This used to be the best barbecue around. NOT ANYMORE! We're so disappointed. Paid over $20 for a plate of food that was bad. Burned ribs was the least of it. Oh and to add meat it was an extra $4.99 FOR ONE CHICKEN LEG! ARE YOU JOKING!? Most of the leg was fat and the rest skin. So basically I paid $43.05 for one adult meal, one child's meal, one soda and a banana pudding that was old and tasted like refrigerator. Oh and no corn muffin, no bread nothing with the meal. I'm so disappointed. The PRICES have gone UP and the QUALITY DOWN. Our waitress was not very polite and didn't bring us all our food or come check on us much. Sad sad sad. Top it off with my grandson getting FOOD POISONING! He vomited his kids meal burger until his stomach was empty! Poor Lil guy threw up 3 times until it was gone.

Ordered take-out for my Mom's birthday 3/12/17, Food was good especially the beans, ribs and corn bread. Ordered a brisket sandwich, was too fatty so I didn't check hntil we got home. They had just closed but "Famous Bill" answered the call when I called back 30 minutes later. I explained what I had he told me they had closed but he would make me a new sandwich at my convenience. I returned today 313/17, for re-do sandwich and all is well. Famous Dave's gave me good food at a decent price. I will be returning. Thanks "Famous Bill! Great customer service and good food. We will be back.

We have dined at this establishment several times since its debut here in town along with dozens of others who have followed since then.

This restaurant is famous for its pork ribs, chicken, beef brisket and several flavors of barbecue sauce.

As you enter this restaurant, you get the feeling of being in a "barn" with all the farm like signs adorned throughout the restaurant.

There is a stone fireplace to make you "feel at home or at least that's what I think they're conveying?"

There is an "open washbasin" for anyone to wash their hands after getting your fingers covered in barbecue sauce.

The restaurant is usually crowded, especially during the weekend when the "meat eaters" venture out for their carnivorous appetites.

We usually try to come before the supper crowd to avoid the lines and the "crazy meat eaters."  "Texas Roadhouse," which is another steak house is in my opinion, the closest rival to this place.

"The founder of Famous Dave's is Dave Anderson, who served as the head of the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs from 2004 to 2005, started the first Famous Dave's restaurant near Hayward, Wisconsin in 1994."

After taking our orders, we were served their home-style "potato chips," which includes six types of barbecue sauces and included at every table.

Their sauces range from plain to "Habanero hot," which is the sauce I typically try.  Their hottest sauce creeps in gradually and does get your endorphins up.

Their version of napkins comes in the form of a roll of paper towels attached to a pipe, which comes in handy when your fingers are covered in barbecue sauce or whatever you decided to stick your fingers into.

    We placed the following orders:

"Dave's Sassy Barbeque Salad," which comes with a choice of Barbeque Pulled Chicken, Texas Beef Brisket, Georgia Chopped Pork, Grilled or Crispy Chicken.

It's served on crisp greens, bacon, house-smoked cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and shoestring potatoes and tossed with honey BBQ dressing.  The salad comes with a Corn Bread Muffin and this plate runs $11.99.

"The Manhandler," which comes with a choice of Texas Beef Brisket or Georgia Chopped Pork piled high with Hot Link Sausage and topped with Hell-Fire Pickles.  This plate runs $10.99.

"Barbeque Chicken," which is a Country-Roasted Chicken flame-kissed and slathered with Rich & Sassy sauce.

The meal also includes corn on the cob, Cole slaw, mac & cheese, and corn bread.  This plate runs $14.49.

My barbecue chicken came on a platter with a cookie sheet covered in red-checkered wax paper.  The chicken was well cooked to the point that some parts of it were a bit dry.

The barbecue sauce wasn't over powering and did add a nice flavor to the chicken.  The corn on the cob was good but there's not much to say.  Besides, how can you mess this up?

Their corn bread, which is a staple here and a favorite comfort food, had a sweet taste but mine was also hard.  The Cole slaw was crunchy and creamy but honestly, nothing out of the ordinary.

My favorite was their "Mac & Cheese," which came out creamy and very good.  The menu stated that jalapenos were added but I didn't taste anything resembling one.

Our overall experience was a pleasant one but I have had better barbeques elsewhere.  There have been times we come here and the food is great and others, not so great.

"In my humble opinion, it's a hit and miss experience every time."

Delicious. The sauces are amazing. Me and my boyfriend had fun mixing them and eating them with the chips. I recommend some ranch, devil's spit, and some sweet & zesty. The prices were fair and the food is so filing.
